Etymology
Encontro das Águas (English: The Meeting of Waters) is named after the confluence of the Rio Negro and the Amazon River on Earth where blackwater of the Rio Negro and the whitewater of the Amazon River flowed for 6 kilometers without until visually mixing, and for around 60 kilometers before mixing entirely. It was, historically, a major tourist attraction in the Brazilian state of Amazonas.
