1944	First Scinfaxi War	Everywhere on Earth, dazzling lights are reported from within the Outgrowths. In many areas, the phenomenon is so bright, night turns to day.
		A machine of unknown origin emerges from an Outgrowth in New Jersey, United States. It vaporizes local military forces and is only destroyed after 99 hours of intense fighting.
		Hundreds and then thousands of similar machines emerge from Outgrowths across the planet.
		Every significant pre-war line is breached. The emerging war turns into a slow retreat.
1947	Reykjavík Summit	Representatives from the United States, German Reich, French Republic, Soviet Union, British Commonwealth, Empire of Japan, Republic of China and Brazil, meet in Iceland. The existence of the atomic bomb is disclosed.
1947	First Scinfaxi War	The first wave of "doomsday settlements" are completed in the Arctic and Antarctic.
1949	Battle of Chicago	The "Mississippi Tendril" reaches Lake Michigan. Heavy fighting begins in the City of Chicago.
1949	Operation Hercules	Twenty-four atomic bombs are detonated in the path of major Scinfaxi advances worldwide.
