The Panzerbrandgranate 101, or PzBrgr ThDU 101, is a type of German railgun round intended for anti-starship warfare. It is currently produced in a various calibers and predominantly in service within the German Reich, and select Axis nations.
Known colloquially as "firecracker rods" since their infamous use during the Battle of the Argentine Moons, the round consists of a depleted uranium penetrating rod surrounded by a thermobaric filler. Upon penetration, the filler is designed to initiate an intense exothermic reaction, generating a high-temperature incendiary effect aimed at causing catastrophic internal damage to enemy starships.
