The Three Saints Grotesque, more commonly referred to as the Grotesque, is an exobiotic species of nocturnal winged ambush predator indigenous to the planet Three Saints that have been inadvertently introduced to several worlds across the Far Frontier. Their diet primarily consists of other forms of exobiotic life, but they have also been known to actively prey on vulnerable humans - especially children and youths.
Etymology
The colloquial name grotesque is a reference to an architectural feature consisting of carvings of mythical or fantastic creatures affixed to the walls or roof of a building, reflecting the ability of members of the grotesque species to remain motionless for days before striking.
Relationship With Humans
The grotesque species is responsible for a large number of attacks on humans.
These attacks have increasingly occurred inside of homes, with the grotesques entering the structures through second-story windows.
