The Democratic Republic of Vega is an interstellar state located in the Veil of Lyra. It constitutes the coreward section of the Vega Cluster, and borders the Federal Union of Vega along their shared demilitarized zone.

Its economy is well-developed and mixed, combining state-owned enterprises with a robust private sector. It joined the Comintern in 2266, and has been slowly integrated into the Communist Bloc in the decades since. It faces competing territorial claims over the Vega system and has engaged in numerous conflicts against the Federal Union of Vega.
