The Apollo Subcluster is a subcluster of star systems located entirely within the Local Cluster.
It is situated trailward of the Juno Reach and spinward of the Draconis Subcluster.
The subcluster includes several sovereign states, including: the Artemis Colonial Republic and Callisto Colonial Republic.
The Apollo Subcluster is principally comprised of six primary star systems: Apollo, Artemis, Asclepius, Daphne, Hera, and Leto.
Only two of the star systems of the Apollo Subcluster are significantly populated: Apollo and Artemis.
Etymology
From Latin Apollō, from Ancient Greek Ἀπόλλων (Apóllōn). Possibly from Pre-Greek, or from an older, obsolete verb meaning "to drive away," as in evil. Plato in Cratylus connects it to ἀπόλλυμι (apóllumi, “to destroy”), ἀπολούων (apoloúōn, “washing”), ἀπολύων (apolúōn, “delivering”), ἁπλοῦν (haploûn, “simple”), and ἀειβάλλων (aeibállōn, “always shooting”). Ancient Greek deity of oracles, healing, archery, music, arts, light, knowledge, herds and flocks, and protection of the young.
