The Argentine Arm is a group of 11 star systems located within the Local Supercluster. The cluster includes eight colonized systems and two countries: the Argentine Republic and Republic of Chile. Both of these states are classified as legacy nations, sharing strong direct historical, cultural, and linguistic ties to nations that once existed on Earth.

Etymology

From Latin argentum (“silver”) + the feminine of the adjectival suffix -īnus; in reference to the Río de la Plata ("silver river"). Demonym for the people of Argentina.

Astrography

The Argentine Arm is situated spinward of the Elysian Fields and rimward of both the Encontro Das Águas and Bolivar Sea.

The Cold War

War of the Bolivar Sea

Conducted in the mid 23rd century, the War of the Bolivar Sea was an armed conflict fought between the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Argentine Republic. The German Reich and Italian Social Republic supported the Argentine Republic in this conflict.
