The Encruzilhada Subcluster (English: The Crossroads) is a subcluster of star systems located entirely within the Local Cluster.
It is situated directly trailward of the Pillars of Hercules and rimward of the Amazonia Cluster.
The subcluster includes one sovereign state: the Bolivarian Republic of Callao.
The Encruzilhada Subcluster is principally comprised of eight primary star systems: Encruzilhada, Callao, Cartagena, Eyipantla, Antilia, Zonda, Brújula, and Roche.
Etymology
From Portuguese encruzilhar (“to cross”), from Portuguese cruz (“cross”), from Old Galician-Portuguese cruz, from Latin crux (“cross”), from Proto-Indo-European *(s)ker- (“to turn, to bend”). Portuguese noun meaning "crossroads."
