The Bolivarian Republic of Callao, commonly known as Callao, is a Non-Legacy Nation located in the Encruzilhada Subcluster. It is a Small Power and both a member of the League of Nations and of the Union of South American States.

Callao Civil War

The secession of the Palomino-based Callao People's Federation has caused a brief civil war in 2279. The Orion Treaty Organization intervened in order to stabilize Callao and to prevent further destabilization of the Encruzilhada Subcluster. By the end of the civil war, planet-wide fortifications were established on armistice lines. Since demarcation, Callao's armistice lines has had numerous cases of incursions caused by militias such as the Revolutionary Nationalist Army. In one such incident, an attempted border incursion was repelled by French peacekeepers.
