The Elysian Fields is a group of 30 star systems located on the trailward edge of the Local Supercluster. The cluster includes 16 colonized systems and at least 17 countries. With the notable exception of the Holy See, these states are all classified as non-legacy nations - emerging entirely in the Post-Earth era.
Etymology
Calque of Latin Campī Ēlysiī, from Ancient Greek Ἠλῠ́σῐον Πεδῐ́ον (Ēlúsion Pedíon). (Greek mythology, Roman mythology) Elysium; home of the blessed after death. (idiomatic) A place or state of ideal happiness; paradise.
Astrography
The Elysian Fields are situated coreward of the Sunset Gates, trailward of the Argentine Arm, rimward of the Mare Nostrum, and spinward of the Acadian Expanse.
