The League of Nations Security Council is one of the principal organs of the League of Nations, charged with maintaining interstellar security. Its powers, as defined in the Covenant of the League of Nations, include the establishment of peacekeeping operations, international sanctions, and the authorization of military action. The LoN Security Council (LoNSC) is the only League institution with the authority to issue binding resolutions on member states.
Membership in the Security Council is reserved for the most powerful states in the Orion Arm and is often considered a hallmark of Great Power status. Most resolutions require a simple majority, with some requiring a two-thirds vote.
