The State of Virngrund, commonly known as Virngrund, Is a Fascist Non-legacy Nation, and a Middle Power located within the Acadian Expanse.

History

The Cold War

Invasion of Saint-Joseph

The State of Virngrund has long deemed the city state of Saint-Joseph as an illegal breakaway state. In 2285, Virngrundian forces launched a surprise invasion of the city, leaving its OTO partners unable to respond. The initial invasion was marked with missile strikes and landings in the outskirts of Saint-Joseph. Fighting was concentrated within maritime harbor facilities, spaceports & the regional rail terminal. Saint-Joseph Prime Minister Aaron Desramaults surrendered after the capture of the National Palace. Upon the surrender of Saint Joseph, Virngrundian President Zelená proclaimed the return of the "breakaway" city. While the United States ruled out direct military action against Virngrund.

Occupation of Saint-Joseph

A provisional government has been installed in the city by Virngrundian occupying forces. Following the Axis model, occupation forces carried out mass arrests and deportations to the German Reich and other Axis States. Protests against the arrests have further escalated, killing hundreds. Due to the protests, Virngrund authorities placed the city under lockdown.
