The Arcturus Subcluster is a subcluster of systems located entirely within the Local Supercluster.
It is situated directly inside the Local Cluster, Coreward-by-Trailward of the Solar Subcluster, between the Mare Nostrum Trailward and the Vega Cluster Coreward.
The subcluster includes one sovereign state.
The Arcturus Subcluster is principally comprised of eight primary star systems: Arcturus, Artio, Cassini, Catania, Dæl, Kerrigan, Nimrod, and Serafino.
Etymology
Latinised from the ancient Greek Ἀρκτοῦρος ("Arktouros") and means "Guardian of the Bear", ultimately from ἄρκτος ("arktos"), meaning "bear" and οὖρος ("ouros"), meaning "watcher, guardian".
