The Magellan Subcluster is a group of 10 star systems located entirely within the Calypso Deeps. There are no colonized systems and no countries within the Magellan Subcluster.
The Magellan Subcluster is comprised of ten star systems: Barbosa, Cartagena, Carvalho, Elcano, Gonzalo, Magellan, Mendoza, Quesada, Salle, and Serrado.
Etymology
The Magellan Subcluster is named after the Magellan-Elcano Expedition, a 16th century Spanish expedition which achieved the first circumnavigation of Earth. With the exception of Gonzalo, the names of the stars of this subsector are derived from the nine foremost captains of the voyage, from Ferdinand Magellan to Juan Sebastian Elcano.
Astrography
The Magellan Subcluster is situated spinward of the Golden Horn and rimward of the Encruzilhada Subcluster.

Translight Strings
There are a total of 11 charted translight strings connecting the 10 star systems of the Magellan Subcluster. Nine of the translight strings connecting the Magellan Subcluster are weak and unstable. The Gonzalo system, at the subcluster's rimward edge, is a nexus system with four strings converging there.
