Megacorporation

Megacorporations, or megacorps, are massive business entities distinguished by their vast economic power and extensive interstellar reach. They may dominate a single industry or region, operating as a near or total monopoly, or compete across a wide range of industries and markets. While no all-encompassing definition exists, megacorporations are noted for their revenue, which can surpass the GDP of many middle powers, and for certain privileges extended under international law. These include the right to maintain private military forces and, in some cases, the ability to govern territory with limited oversight. Examples include many American conglomerates, German Reichswerk, Japanese zaibatsu, Soviet state-owned combines.
