The Sunset Gates is a cluster of star systems located on the spinward edge of the Sea of Clouds.

The Sunset Gates is comprised of four subclusters: the Gateway Subcluster, McCrae Test and Training Range, New American Colonies, and Symphony Subcluster.

It is situated directly trailward of the Calypso Deeps.

Etymology

An allusion to the passage from famous poem The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus: "Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand a mighty woman with a torch, whose flame is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles."
