The Senekane Subcluster is a subcluster of star systems located entirely within the Local Supercluster.

It is situated immediately Coreward of the New Canaan Corridor, Spinward of the Calypso Deeps, and Rimward of the Apollo Subcluster and Juno Reach.

The subcluster includes two sovereign states: the Federation of Senekane and the Republic of the Union of Andulela-Chelif.

The Senekane Subcluster is principally comprised of seven primary star systems: Andulela, Chelif, Kalahari, Maloti, Senekane, Tugela, and Zanahary.

Etymology

Senekane's namesake was a community council located in the Berea District of Basutoland on Earth. Although the exact etymology of its namesake is unclear, it has been proposed that Senekane may derive from the Italian senecane - a feminine plural of senecano "relating to, or characteristic of, Seneca". Seneca the Younger was a philosopher of Ancient Rome known primarily for his works on Stoicism.
