Operation Rising Sun
Operation Rising Sun is an ongoing military campaign by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the National Liberation Front of Vietnam, also known as the Việt Cộng. The objective of the operation is to decapitate Việt Cộng leadership throughout Great Orinoco and prevent easy access to the Sphere’s core territories.
Background
The Việt Cộng has been waging an insurgency against the Empire of Japan and Empire of Vietnam for decades, receiving both Soviet and OTO support. Just before Operation Rising Sun was launched, the Việt Cộng launched one of its most sophisticated and significant attacks to date, destroying the Port Izumi refinery complex.
Strikes
As of current reports, the IJN has claimed to have killed two high-ranking Việt Cộng officials and a host of military and communication targets.
