The Republic of Vesta, commonly known as Vesta, is a Non-Legacy Nation within the Juno Reach, with its territory comprising the Vesta Planetary System. It is the most populous nation in the Juno Reach, home to 283.1 million people. It is a Middle Power, a member of the League of Nations, and of the Non-Aligned Movement. It is characterized by its diverse cultural heritage, shaped first by its origins as a Colonial Republic and later by its status as a Sanctuary World during the Evacuation of Earth. Originating from the Vesta Civil War against the League of Nations Mandate for the Vestan Colonies, it is a stellar republic modeled on the Commonwealth of Vega. Vesta has actively worked to position itself as the successor to leadership within the Pan-Solar Movement, hosting the largest economy in the Juno Reach, with key industries including agriculture, manufacturing, mining, and tourism.

History

The Modern Dark Age

Civil War

Starting in 2154, shortly after the disruption of Interstellar communications, the League of Nations Mandate for the Vestan Colonies entered a period of collapse. What began as prolonged riots and strikes soon escalated into a full civil war that engulfed all of Vesta. The conflict concluded in 2159 with the establishment of the Republic of Vesta.

Second Solar War

During the Second Solar War, the Republic of Vesta joined the United Solar Federation in its conflict against the Solar Treaty Organization. The war lasted from 2229 to 2232 and concluded with the surrender of the Commonwealth of Vega.
