Translight Strings
There are a total of 15 charted translight strings connecting the 15 star systems of the Well of Embers. The translight strings of the Well of Embers are all weak and unstable due to the unique characteristics of the molecular cloud complex. While no core star system of the Well of Embers boasts more than three connecting strings, the Masu star system along the cluster's edge has four strings converging there.

History
Pre-Colonization Era
Kurugallu Civilization
As recently as between 400 and 900 years ago, a now-extinct interstellar race occupied at least one planet in the Well of Embers: Kurugallu. The species' point of origin and ultimate cause of extinction are still a matter of academic study and debate.
