The International Olympic Committee is an international, non-governmental, sports governing body organization responsible for organising the Summer and Winter Olympics. Its mission is to promote and encourage the promotion of ethics and good governance in sport, to ensure that the spirit of fair play prevails and violence is avoided and to ensure the regular celebration of the Olympic Games.
